What have you done with it? Any Artefacts? Do you encourage your children to collect them?

Yes, I still do. I have shells people have brought me back from all over the world. My boys collect them for me on the beach. When I was a little girl the lady next door made little ladies with handbags and animals out of shells. You can use them to decorate mirrors and picture frames and candle holders. I have a pink shell at my days packed away sage which is lined with red leather and has a clasp to close it like a tiny purse, it's very beautiful.

I stay 5 kms away from Arabian Sea. To reach a nearest beach, it takes 15 minutes drive. Along with family members, relatives, friends, I visit beach and pick up these seashells eventoday. We get lots in the morning than in the evening. One can do a lot of artwork in these shells.

Yes we did but then we'd always go for pippy hunting, get a whole heap, throw them in a pot and boil them till the shells opened then cut their guts out and add lemon juice to them and down the hatch.....yummo!

I thought they were sea shells. My mom and grandmother would take me to the Bay Shore and I would collect, perrywinkle Shells, some with them still inside. And Old clam and muscle shells I would take them home and wash them and keep them in a big container in my room...I never realized why thy all mostly looked the same, black purple color

Yes, I collected seashells when I was a kid and I still do today. My daughter loves to go to the beach and walk all along the sand to find them. We have to bring a big bucket with us to hold them all. My daughter loves to put them on her shelf in her room. We have even made magnets out of them...that is really pretty and my daughter enjoys doing it. We have seashells from lots of states all over our fridge.

That sounds fantastic. The doubt I have is how do you make magnets out of seashells? Have you tried some artefacts out of seashells in your leisure time? Thanks.

To collect sea shells one need not be near sea. I have collected by being 400 kms away from sea. All you have to do is to request friends and relatives to collect on your behalf. Thanks for your response.
