How can someone move on to another person so fast?

I know this guy who dated this girl for a number of years. Then they decided to move in together. Very shortly after moving in together, they broke up. I think he initiated the breakup. Anyways, a few days after they split he started seeing other girls... This made me wonder... If a person was in a relationship with someone for many years, and they loved each other, how can he/she move on so quickly to other people after the split...? I know I wouldn't be able to do that. It would take a while before I was ready to date and meet other people. To each his/her own I guess.

Maybe he'd been out of love for a while but hadn't made the break.

@lovebuglena I suppose for some they need their own space or have been on their own too long and can't adjust to sharing. Habits that seemed endearing might become annoying when living together full-time.

@JudyEv That's true. Certain habits may not be a person's cup of tea, especially when witnessed on a regular basis.

He broke up with her after moving in together and living under one roof for a little bit. I wonder if they'd still be together had they not started living together. It happens to a lot of people for some reason. The relationship is great and then they move in together and shortly after they part ways. Wonder why that is.

There must be some valid reason for that or the guy is plainly a womanizer.

Men are most likely easy to move on. We are not very sentimental person when we decide to move on we usually mean it and we get over it. Although there are also some that has a hard time to move on but they are few.

@lovebuglena Yeah true and brutal for many women. Men differs in the way they handle things they can easily move and leave if they are really meant to. That is complete opposite with women when they love it takes them time to let go and move on. I am not saying we are right or wrong, it just is mostly our way of moving on.

@rsa101 I fail to grasp how someone can move on so fast if they truly loved someone and cared for them a great deal, regardless whether it's a man or a woman.

But if you really love a person, and the person meant something to you, how can you just start meeting up with other people pretty much as soon as you break up with that person. That doesn't seem right.

There was love there for sure, at least at some point.
