My Student Working in a Game Farm (Chicken Fight)

Philippines
October 16, 2018 12:44am CST
Due to poverty some of our youth stop schooling and went into working to live. More of them are working in constructions or in a farm to support their families. Many of them grow old without reading a single word, nor writing their own names on paper. But a few are trying to fight this struggle and find ways to go to school. Education is important for an individual for various reasons, It can even serve as an identity in society. The persons in the photo is my student Ronald who is working in a chicken farm along side with his father. They are the ones who feed, breed and train the chicken for future battles. At a young age he manage his time in school, work and also his peers for socialization.Even though they do not have enough money, he is still optimistic and positive towards education, He didn't even have a failing mark unlike other regular students that I have. Just sharing my students life and if you like the story feel free to comment below I will show your comments to him. Thank You! God bless!

Sad reality but perhaps the teachers and the parents play vital roles in molding the minds of their students.

Very true! Parents and teacher are partner in developing a child as well as their well being.

I saw that nobody says anything about the chicken battles. In our country those are illegal. And it's wrong to mistreat animals or birds.

@Teachers_Log That's sad to hear this. Animals shouldn't suffer because of people.

I think that is what is just needed to succeed in life. Never give up to what your conditions in life right now. Education is a game changer in this struggles in life. If you pursue it seriously it could change the way you live and the life you get. I have seen one who from a very poor family she struggled to be a lawyer and just recently she passed the bar. Now she is the first in her family to be professional and is becoming an inspiration to her younger sibling to aspire for their dreams.
