Especially now that it is up to $970 million for the 10/19 drawing, I think you should. But be advised, I already have the winning ticket in my hands.

Interestingly enough 9 times out of 10 the quick picks win the drawings. But I DO hope you've picked the right numbers.

Actually your odds do not change when the drawings go higher. Your odds stay exactly the same no matter what the amount is. What DOES influence a higher chance of SOMEONE winning, however, is the fact that when drawings reach these higher amounts more people tend to buy tickets and there happens to be a higher percentage of the possible number combinations out there. Generally when the percentage is about 80% of the possible number combinations that's when someone wins. But it IS all random no matter what. Buying more tickets also does not increase your chances by enough of a percentile to matter. Although many people think it does. It is pure luck in the grandest sense of the word.

Can't win if you don't play. At the same time, based on the odds, you probably won't win even if you do play. It's a conundrum.

MegaMillions is indeed played in California. In fact, the last big winning ticket was sold there back in July.
