The heat is on.
Its election fever now. This is the last day of filing of certificate of candidacy or COC in my country.
"Join the fun" as one of the candidate for senator said, Juan Ponce Enrile- the oldest candidate and one of the oldest figure of Philippine politics.
"Its more fun in the Philippines" as the former Tourism battlecry of the country said.
Why more fun? In Makati City its the fight between Binay siblings. In my province, two father are fighting as mayor in the municipality while their respective sons are fighting the gubernatorial seat.
And so many cases like this: brother versus brother, father versus child, or the trinity of them in one town, father for mayor, wife for vice mayor, son/daughter for councilor, board member or higher post.
Its really more fun the Philippines... including politics.

Because I am always at the office, I haven't heard as to who are the relatives or sibling who are fighting against one position.
So, who are the Binay siblings fighting one another? And who are those two fathers fighting as mayor in your municipality and respective sons for gubernatorial seats?
But I have heard about Enrile, 94 year old running for senator and the two senators who are in jail because of administrative cases , are still running for senatorship.
Indeed, here in the Philippines, everyone wants to be in politics. One will not wonder why anymore.

@ilocosboy You can sense how greedy the politicians are. When they become in power, they don't want it out of their lives anymore.

Welcome to the satire, parody and sarcasm of Philippine politics. It has been like this since the day I was born.
In Makati City its Binay siblings.
In my province, Chavit Singson is running for mayor in Narvacan town of Ilocos Sur, he's facing the scion of this town Edgar Zaragoza.
However, there sons Ryan Singson will seeking reelection and will face Zuriel Zaragoza, mayor of Narvacan now.

I posted a joke for my friends on FB with this: "Hey, it's election time and I'm running for Mayor! I don't have a Vice because I don't drink, smoke or gamble."

It is definitely very interesting this coming elections since the politicians are really onto each others throat especially in the local election. The National position for the senate looks interesting that some of the administrations chosen candidate are really funny. Most are just blind followers of the President that is why they are there. I just hope that voters will be more choosy who to vote and not just base on popularity because most politicians are vying for that to convince the electorate.

@ilocosboy I hope that soon it would be the trend. Many still consider our election as popularity contest and those that are close to the President usually wins because the entire government resources are at his disposal.

@ilocosboy We have one family who believe that it is their birthright to be in power and they get too restless if they are not. Now country has become smarter and I hope they will not come to power on the basis of their inheritance.

I hope Filipinos have already learned and be more wise in choosing their leaders. Its not fun when prices of basic goods are going up. In November, minimum fare will go up.
These are all products of government mismanagement. We should not be blinded anymore by those promising to get rid of our problems in 3-6 months.
