What can I do for him?

Seven months ago, I adopted an orange cat from someone else. When I brought him back, he was just 7 months old and weighted about 2 kilograms at that time. He was a cute boy, loving chasing mice, birds, and everything that appealed to him. Ordinarily I only feed him cat food and water. With the passage of time, 7 months have passed. Now he is getting lazier and lazier and weighs 6.5 kilograms. I'm afrad he will become too fat. What should I do for him?

Well I guess you need to limit the food you are giving him. 6.5 kilos is overweight for him.

It's no use trying to restrict his diet, because when he is hungry, he'll keep bothering me.

You could try feeding him a little less, and playing with him. Does he go outside a lot?

@Freewings Then I'm not sure how you could help him... Make sure he moves around a lot by playing with him?

@maclanis I'm going to feed him a lower-fat cat food instead and I hope it helps.

It's no use to feed him a little less. I live in the top floor and have a rooftop for him to play on.

You need to give him just the necessary amount of food for him to move around. I used to give my cat just little food, I think cats donĀ“t need as much food as dogs do

That's quite a big cat you have... Maybe just control his food take.

That's not a good idea. When he is hungry, he will keep meowing at me.

Cats are lazy, haha... I have two and they would only come out to be fed and be petted.. I love them, though.

Are your cats obese?

@Freewings No. Just right. I don't like my pets skinny.

Give him less food. And he needs more exercise. I have a cat. He weights 3 or 4 kilos.

Maybe you need to take him for a walk every day.

It's not a good idea because cat is wary of strange surroundings. He is easily frightened. Anyway, thank you for your suggestion.
