A few days ago, I read a review talking about the posibity of earning money taking photos. There exist some apps and some websites too, where useres may sell their photos. It seems to be an interesting option. So, I am wondering if someone has any experience by this kind of online earnings.

I have submitted several photos to Pixabay and received some compensation for a few of them. Enough for a couple cups of coffee.

At the beginning, it needs some dedication to get enough great captures until you fill in a few albums. After, you need good luck to find clients interested in your images.

@Meramar Many people use the images without paying, I see people using copyrighted images even here.

@LadyDuck Perhaps, many don't know how to check if the image they want to use is under copyright.

You can use sites like zazzle to put your photos on their products

I am uploading a bit over 1 year to EyeEm.com, where they sell stock photos and the good ones are even listed on Getty Images. But with almost 6,000 uploads I have had only 4 sales :-(

@Meramar Yes, that would be the best option but I don't have enough time for that. I rarely find time to upload our vacation photos and I thought I'd give it a try with those. Can't go out and "produce" stock photos for the market. You would have to find and pay models, too.

@stine1online Of course, time is important. What I usually do is taking advantage of every place. Everywhere I go, on the to work, shopping, to visit someone like my mom, I look around to see if there is something which serves for a capture. Also, when my children go on an excursion from school, I ask them to take photos. Not all photos need a model. There are many options around you for great images or you also may create some at home.

That's not a big deal. Maybe, you could try other sites and make a research which kind of photos are the most sold. Based on the results, you can try to change the kind of photos you take to upload.

I did it for awhile and never made anything from it, buts that's me. If you are real good at taking good pictures than you have a chance. The only picture app I made money from was, take your selfie.

It may not be easy getting the right photos which catch the interest of possible buyers.

@Meramar No I don't think it's easy at all. But some people are very good at pictures.

@hillhjill It needs at least a lot of practice and experience. Besides, good eyes (a creative view).

@Meramar Yes. But I don’t visit it that often. If my memory serves me right, the minimum payout is one dollar.

Did you submitted the photos a long time ago? I checked up some users of the app which I downloaded. That's right that some of them downloaded more than a thousand of photos and sold maybe one or two hundred of them. Internet is full of free and beautiful pictures. As all earning sites, I suppose we have to be patient and it requires time and a bit of effort.
