I Am Going To Do Something Stupid

It's not that I necessarily have money to burn. But I am not hurting either. And so, to that end, I intend to do something stupid tomorrow.
I am of course traveling on business in Wisconsin, and I will be heading home tomorrow with a few stops along the way.
If you have not heard, the MegaMillions lottery jackpot is now at a staggering $970 million. This is of course because people have been buying tickets like crazy since nobody won the last drawing and it went to $868 million, then $900 million, and is now $970 million. It may be over a billion dollars by the time the drawing happens tomorrow night.
So I will be making a few extra stops. I already have two tickets for Friday's drawing in my pocket. I had my wife buy one back home in Illinois and will have her buy another one tomorrow so that will be four tickets.
I will buy about $40 worth of tickets on the way home covering both Wisconsin and Illinois.
Will I win? Of COURSE not. Is this stupid? Of COURSE it is.
But I am going to do it anyway. This is just too interesting an opportunity to pass up on. And I have wasted money on far worse things in my life than the lottery.
I will let you know how it all worked out after the drawing.

@porwest Yeah, for awhile I would actually buy the 2 liter - drink it in the car. I'm like, I don't care if I look stupid.... it's a better deal :-)

If you buy that many, it seems you should win a little something, but life plays tricks on us, so maybe not.

Okay, did you win? I didn't, otherwise I'd probably be on an around the world cruise or such. Not sure if I want to waste 20 bucks again for tickets or not. Are you going to?

Just bought five tickets and it's now one billion dollars. We seldom buy lottery tickets, but like you said, sometimes you just gotta do something stupid.

Is there a reason behind buying tickets in different locations?
Well, as long as you have the money to spend... and you sound like you are realistic.... I say have fun.
