Helping a Neighbor

Got up early this morning. Doing my chores. I kept hearing the little dog barking next door. My neighbor is elderly and lost his wife in the spring to cancer. I try to listen out for him. His daughter lives closeby but I still find myself keeping an eye out for him. He is trying to be independent. He has a little dog that is his shadow.
I kept hearing her bark. This happens but he usually tells her to be quiet after a few minutes. I got concerned after about an hour of hearing her bark. I walked to the fence and called out his name. I could barely him him answer.
So off I went. He had fallen but seemed ok. I called his daughter. She quickly came and they are going to the doctor just in case. You just never know what might be happening with your neighbors. I am glad I paid attention to my gut instinct. And hopefully he will be fine.
Do you have neighbors you keep an eye out for?

That's good that you were there to keep an eye out for him and hopefully he will be okay!
We live in an apartment complex of 24 apartments, so I guess we all keep an eye out for each other!

I used to but I moved. Once I found a neighbor had fell and she did break her hip, I called 911 from inside her house, her grandson was there but asleep. she made me ride to the hospital with her.

He is lucky to have a neighbour like you. More power to you. And the dog sure knew something was not OK

I lived next door to my Mom and Dad and kept a close eye on them. My dad fell a few times. It is scary when they fall after a certain age. Glad you paid attention to his doggy. She knew what she needed to do to get him help.

That is so great Carol that you look out for that man.
He needs it and you had done such a good turn today. I am thankful he has you for a neighbor.
I hope he is okay.
That little dog helped too. Dogs are so good like that.
Not looking out for anyone in this complex but really no need to, they should be looking out for me lol

I am very glad you followed your instinct, Carol. You're a good neighbour. My neighbours are mostly younger and families.

That's good that you noticed it and were able to help. A lot of people wouldn't have even noticed.
