I never understand why people cannot be happy with just having enough. Even my friends who are in career jobs that make over a 100,000 a year more than enough to thrive are not happy and want more. I never will get it. Most of them cannot even be fired from their job if they tried, but still want that winning lotto ticket.

@crossbones27 , Conversely I know for a fact that most of them would go off the deep end if suddenly their source of income suddenly stopped. They don't have a clue about what is going to happen when the day comes when all of us all face the same brick wall that I think you already know is going to be in place in the very near future.

I can relate to you on this. It is odd that people never seem to feel they have enough. 100 thousand a year is good money.

Yes, and people who lived long ago, were faithful and read their Bible and went to church and followed the golden rule, long before we started thinking we didn't need the Bible, we strayed far from the straight and narrow.

Greed is the main reason the Philippines is not progressing even if it has a lot of natural resources, we have a lot of greedy self serving politicians, serving the people who elected them is not their priorty.

I agree with you. A lot of people commit crimes because of greed.

Greed can interfere with our better judgment. For example, say you want to have 2 thousand dollars set aside for an emergency but because of lack of patience or perhaps to some degree, greedy thinking and you decide not to save that two thousand but instead spend it every time you make it and in the end when the time comes when you actually need that 2 thousand you don't have it because you might have given in to impulse purchases because of in a sense a form of need for immediate gratification and greed is somewhat like that emotion.

@lookatdesktop very true. Also greed can make you do something you can regret in the end.

@rakski , And the greater the greed is directly as important as it's source.

I agree with you. Greed will lead to the extinction of humans.

You are absolutely right, only that those who let themselves be carried away by greed lose their sense of what is really worth in life. Money only solves.

Thank you for your very good comment. I appreciate it. You know, from my experience, it has been the acceptance of poverty that has made me a better man. I once was greedy and pretty wealthy but as I got wise and turned my life over to God, I have accepted being poor as a deliberate action so I will not be driven by greed because greed effects us all in a very bad way.

Very true. There is a tv show called American Greed. That tells you how much greed is going on, to have a show named after it.
