How to be an effective Junior Manager

I have been holding a junior manager position for a year already. I want to become as much as possible effective but my problem is that those who are under this position are mostly millennial and are as old as me and some are older staffs of the company. My coworkers sometimes called me a fake manager because I can't control those under me. It's as if I lack the authority to implement things.

How should I do that? Maybe one reason is that I tend to do other people's job which I'm suppose to delegate.

@christoffowel You have to show that you have more energy than others, complete your tasks. You are intelligent, I believe in that.

As a manager you have to be assertive. Remember that the management is watching.

You can call for a meeting and then have a discussion.. If they still don't follow, you have to give them warnings..
