Eve - What was the forbidden fruit that she ate?

October 20, 2018 8:15pm CST
I have always been curious to know what was the fruit that, according to the biblical story, Eve ate and then gave food to Adam. Some believe it was an apple, but there is no evidence that it was really like that. What do you think, what would the fruit be?

No one knows for sure that even bible never mentioned what kind of fruit it was. I really do not think that it will be important at all what it was since it never mentioned what it was then I think it is not important for us to know anymore. if it was important then the bible would have describe it and told it but since it did not then let's leave it at that. I do not think that if ever it will be known there will be an impact in our lives to know about it.

@wifredorv31 Now that it may be that khuldi fruit what would be the effect on us when we know it. Should we avoid that fruit already because its the root of why we suffer from this world?

@wifredorv31 You look so cordial and respectful in here and I really appreciate that in here. I am glad that you find the site not only economic but a venue for exchange of ideas from the members. Speaking from experience this site has both made me explore many ideas that are from the mundane to the rather challenging topics such as this one. This site will not make you a richer but the money you receive is just an appreciation of your effort to make ideas shared to as many who are interested in your topics.

@rsa101 You are right in a certain way, but due to that simple question related to that fruit, I have been able to know your opinion and some features of your interesting personality, as well as those of other members of this valuable group of people in this site, which less to me they make me spend really nice moments and that in me has a tremendously positive effect. I think that is the meaning of all this, not to seek absolute truths because we will not find them, only perspectives, at least in this type of topic, since in more than 2000 years of Christianity, not even all Christians have been able to agree on many aspects of the Bible, just assume it as best we think according to the interpretation of other humans as imperfect as we are. Here, now I am looking for more than everything to share with you, although initially I was attracted by the economic, but I have already realized that apparently, it is more what we write than what adds to our balance. The real wealth in this could be in the knowledge that we acquire from all the other writers, which for me is still a general culture and stimulus for many other things. About the fruit, if you have noticed in the opinion of the other Myloters, is just a matter of conversation, and only for some is an opportunity to share good messages of a spiritual nature that I think does not do us any harm. Let's be happy because it was not a watermelon and instead of carrying an Adam's apple inside the neck, do not bring an Adam's watermelon. It's really a pleasure to share with you.

Of course, no other than the FRUIT OF KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL. It is just for creative artistic physical or materialistic illustration presentation purposes for using apples or other fruits. Can you produce that forbidden fruit literally? No and no one of course. After the fall God forbids man in the Garden of Eden / Paradise. So, how can we know or produce that same kind of fruit or the tree itself. Yes, we can. But not literally. Thru symbolic wisdom or spiritually or methaphysics.

@wifredorv31 The effects of eating or accepting that fruit (by satan / the snake) is embedded into our souls. Our human mind, body, flesh dwelling in good and evil spirit. Hence, the fruit knowledge of good and evil. And, Satan said to Eve will become god by eating the fruit.

Interesting point of view, thanks for sharing it. @gjabaigar. I think they are quite right that access to that tree was forbidden and it is logical to think that another tree of the same type could not have grown if God did not want it that way.

@RasmaSandra That's what most of us used to think, but today I learned that it could also be a khuldi fruit.

@josie_ Hahaha ... Now the question becomes more interesting because if it is that it had no seeds, I think the apple also has seeds, now what else could be, I'm more curious now ... hahaha. I'm going to reread the book of Genesis to see this from the seed, perhaps this will vary according to the translation, out of curiosity, which translation do you use? Thank for your opinion.

I really don't think it's important what the actual fruit was. The importance is that Eve and then Adam disobeyed God and we've all suffered the consequence ever since.

@1creekgirl Hi, Vicky. You're really right, all that humanity has gone through for that simple, but a very shocking act of disobedience ... And what we lack ... That situation with Adam and Eve involves many more things, but you have to have more time to analyze them deeply.

I always imagined an apple because we have an Adam's apple on our neck, as if it was forbidden fruit caught in our throat. but now that you mention it I'm gonna imagine something different, like a pineapple or something ridiculous

@isweartokira, You made me laugh by just imagining that instead of an apple, now we had a pineapple in our neck, Can you imagine it? hahaha ... I prefer to think of a grape or a fruit of similar size ... But I think most of us still think of an apple because of all this that appears in most of the paintings or other illustrations.

@wifredorv31 I don't think it is really important what matters more is the lesson that we shouldn't really eat it. I doubt that fruit really exists now.

So you really believe that the Adam-n-Eve story is true? Common sense tells me it is just a fiction.

I am pretty sure that it was grapes because it is grown in the middle east and it is one of the oldest fruit in the history of the earth. Apples didn't grow before grapes so there is a possibility it was grapes.
