What's your Favourite Bagel?

I discovered bagels on my one and only visit to New York (in fact, my only visit to North America) some 20 years ago. I was so impressed with the choice of bagel and fillings available that I tried a different one for lunch every day for a week, and only scratched the surface of what I saw on the menus! When I got back to Ireland, I watched out for bagels, but only found them on rare occasions. Luckily, all that has changed now, and I can find them in any supermarket here
My favourite is a toasted red onion and chive bagel, topped with cream cheese and smoked salmon, as pictured. Next to it you can see what I topped the other half with: slices of ripe French goat cheese roulade. Always with lots of butter melted in!
What's your favourite way of eating a bagel?

Panera bread has a Cinnamon crunch bagel which has a lot of streusel on it, and is simply divine..except for the caveat it is also the most fattening one.

That sounds pretty darn good. I had to look up streusel. Now I want some!

I used to like eating them as a breakfast sandwhich....with an egg, cheese, and some deli ham or turkey.

I've never taken that approach, Courtney. Worth a try this weekend, I reckon

Well, yeah, that's my favourite too, Marlina! But a little smoked salmon doesn't go astray either

@Courage7 I'll need to put that in my planner, as I've outsourced my 'rememberer'

Oh Courage! I also go long periods without them, but then when I eat them again, I can't help thinking, why have I been wasting all these months not eating bagels?!!!

I think I have two unopened jars of sundried tomatoes in the pantry. I never quite figured out what to do with them, but putting some on a bagel sounds like a great start
