1.98 miles and 3,168 steps

I've already noticed a bit of a difference with me walking every day. I still have a long way to go, but if I can already tell a difference then I am more than pleased. I just looked at the map of my neighborhood. I try to set off on a slightly different path each time but there was one road I wasn't sure about. I've figured out where it ends and so I will probably walk it tomorrow. I'm figuring that will be 2.5 miles in total for that session of walking. For whatever reason it didn't calculate my calories this time but I figured I burnt around 200 on this walk. This was the second walk of the day. I try to walk twice a day, though sometimes it turns into three times a day.

I did even better today. I think if I keep walking the path I did this morning and the path I did this afternoon (two different paths) then I will be better off. I just need to add a few extra steps into the one I do in the afternoon I think.

Got a ways to go but I'm getting there. I think I'll start incorporating squats and crunches as well. Not while I walk, but before.

I love going for walks and changing then up to different roads can make it less boring if you do the same ones all the time. I have a favorite route I follow in my town but when I take my dog for walks I go down an old railroad trail.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I used to use mapmywalk app back when it gave mpoints for using it.

@ScribbledAdNauseum not Mypoints but mpoints. It had quite a few apps you could use and earn points with but it got to where it would load and load and not take you to the redeem option and then a few months later I got a message saying they did say with their rewards program. I only cashed out once or twice.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Me and my boyfriend walked in cold weather before when he could go for walks. As soon as he is all healed up from surgery we will be walking again together. I am walking for weight loss as well.

@Tina30219 I'm driking Lemon Ginger Tea every morning and every night as well, to help with that. I want to walk up to three and a half miles in a day, so I'm trying to find the best route that will be both physically beneficial (inclines) but will take me no longer than 45 minutes to walk to and back.

I've walked in forty degree temperatures. I don't want to make an excuse that it's "just too cold." 20 degrees would be too cold and even then I'd probably go for a short walk. I'm trying to shed a few lbs. I hope you get to take a walk tomorrow.

Well done, I never used to calculate how many steps I walk, but I know that there are about 2 miles to go to the closest grocery store, so I walk 4 miles when I go there buying something.

Do you have to traverse hills or slopes?

@LadyDuck Do you use one of those rolling trolley's or do you carry your bags yourself?

@ScribbledAdNauseum The grocery store is downhill, I have to climb uphill to come back home.

That's great keep up the good work! I'm getting ready to walk at least 4 miles myself.

I break it up into twice daily walks, though I am thinking of increasing the miles slightly by doing another loop down my road before I come back home. That way I am not too far away and can easily get back if I am just too exhausted.
