No matter how silly a rule might seem to grandparents or other people in a baby’s life, it’s a parents job to set the rules and the job of everyone else to follow them.

I think you have a point but at a point a child should be allowed to make decisions on their own under the guidance of the parents. This way their thinking faculty can develop.

Parents are the primary caregiver and they should be in control and in charge of parenting.
