Missing My Long Hair

The other day Facebook reminded me of how glamourous my hair was before I ruined it with chemical dyes and too much straightening. I really am trying to grow my hair back back to its glorious days but I can’t seem to be able to. Everytime it starts to grow to a desirable length it starts to have split ends. I have been staying away from the ceramic iron for 5 months now. But I still haven’t seen real improvements. Any mylotters can share hair tips?

@1hopefulman This is why I’m scared to just believe labels which says “it will make your hair shiny”!

I hope so too. I am itching to colour it but I’m scared of damage it more so I’m bearing with the ugly overgrown tips that doesn’t match the brown-dyed bottoms.

Do you iron your hair? That can really ruin the hair as well as rebonding. I used to have mg hair rebonded evey 6 or 7 months. That caused my alopecia areata, i have to rest it for more than 1 year and a half.

@flapiz yes , rest it. When it gets a bit ling have it trimmed. Do ut always until the ild hair is finally all trimmed and what remained are the new ones.

Yes I use to iron it a lot specially when I’m going out. Now I’ve stopped but I think I need to wait longer to see improvements.

@flapiz You have nice curls in the picture. I at one time tried to straighten my hair. I have naturally curly hair and hated it but after a long time I was fine with it.

I’ve really grown to appreciate mine. Plus straightening takes forever with the iron.

Do you have naturally wavy hair, like in the photo? I think it looks great! Another reminder of just how beautiful you are!

Yes that’s my natural hair. When I was younger it’s curlier like a spring. As it grows longer it leans towards wavy because of too much hair weight.

I love your curls, Floraine. I am not an expert when it comes to hair care. I just use hair mask/hot oil every two weeks. I have heard Brazilian blowout is good. Your hair will be soft and friz-free for 8-12 weeks.

I have been doing hair spa at home but it’s quite pricey even for a DIY. I want to try hair mask. What brand do you recommend? I did try Brazilian blowout in Australia but it didn’t work so welll. I intend to try it here in the Philippines cause Asian salons seem to do hair better.
