Worrying About Getting Old

I read a post by a relative saying she is worried as to who will take care of her when she gets old.
She cited cases of elder people who could no longer take care of themselves, yet they were abandoned by their families, alone and lonely, some of them just withing they die soon to end the agony.
Such is a sad situation. But I think one should do his best to prepare for such situations. Save for that time so he does not need to rely on his family for financial help; be open-minded or face everything with a happy disposition.
Just be happy and be thankful if you can reach that very old age! It's a blessing because some people died so young and did not fully savored the beauty of life!
Do you also worry about getting old?

Sometimes I'm thinking what would be my life when I get old. I have 5 children and expecting them to give me grandchildren and that would bring me happy days. If ever no one would take care of me, but as long as I'm with my wife, I'm okay.

At least you have a family. Just keep doing good and looking after your children. I'm more worried because I'm still single.

Yes, you can take care of your grandchildren too, which they say prolong grandparents' lives; but you should have your own money or resources too, so they won't regard you as a burden. But I guess your children will take care of you if you love them so much too!

some people do have enough money, but their family members who they depend on don't spend it on their care.

Parents should be wise or practical enough to handle their own money or nurture a responsible person whom they can trust to help them manage their finances when they grow old.

It's a sad sad situation. This happens everywhere. When one gets old and sick one will be at the mercy of others. Sometimes even when it's well planned, things can go wrong.

I think about most of the time. Most specially that I'm still single even at my age. I feel sad because I didn't get to the point of my life were I should be ready to settle with some one. But maybe my fate is different.

If you have nice relatives or very good friends, then you can count on them in the future. Just have good financial plans too.

Like Alfredo said, I don't worry about getting old, I already am! But no one has the promise of tomorrow, so I try to live the very best I can to further the kingdom of God while I'm here.

Sometimes, we can't avoid to think of it. It is easy to say we don't worry about the afterglow of our life but that's why we are striving day by day because we think of the day when our hair is about to gray.

Although we Filipinos have close family ties, it is practical to save for the future so we won't rely on our children for support; so careful financial planning is the best.

@acelawrites And luck, a lot luck though we are great at planning and action if luck is always not on our side, everything will not run smoothly.
