Well it looks like it has been won!! Some lucky winner in South Carolina has done it, won the mega millions. $913.7 Million dollars, wow. Whoever is holding that ticket just got a break for the rest of their lives. Do you live in South Carolina, could it be you? Better start checking those numbers, you may not have to go to work tomorrow. What would you do with that much money. I imagine it could be quite hard dealing with that amount of money, people you haven't heard from in years would be standing on your porch. I wonder if you could stay anonymous with a win that size. What do you think, would it be a good thing or bad, what would you do with that money?

South Carolina is a state that allows winners to remain anonymous to the public.

You can only stay anonymous if you don't change your life style. You have to go on living like you did before. So, what to do with all the money then if you can't spend it?

@MALUSE Pay off debt, start trust funds for the grand kids, help others out, there are many ways to have that money. Just because you have it doesn't mean you have to spend it to the extreme. Many can benefit from it but the ones you choose, not the ones who want to choose you!

Nobody needs so much money to lead a decent life. From now on, the winner will have only one thought for the rest of their life, namely what to do with the money. I'd prefer less money for more people.

Your so very right, you don't need a lot for yourself to live a good life but think of all the good one could do with that money. Donations they could make, how many people could profit. I would pay off my debt and buy each of my kids a house so I wouldn't have to worry about them when I am gone. I would know they were safe and in a place they could always call home. Nothing fancy, just a simple place. There are so many after that I could help as well with donations.

They could have made rich more than 50 people, why to give so much money to one person only?

@cintol They do the same here, but I think that should do something different, where there are more chances to win, even if not so much money.

@LadyDuck I think they should only let it get to a certain amount and then start a second one and then more then one winner would always win

The pot just grows every time there is no winner, some times multiple people win and they split the pot.

@cintol That is some lucky person. It is not me but if I did win that much money I would buy us a place that is all ours and make it secure from noise. I would do something for the stray animals. I would donate to the shelters for battered women and I would help those get free from the monsters that will not give them a divorce.

@cintol Thanks Cindy but I do not play the lottery anymore. I played with a friend once here but I was no good with the numbers I chose so we stopped it. I won one thing in my life and love what I won. I won my lion and brought him with me to Israel.

I saw this on facebook and I thought it was pure genus: Before stepping forward and claiming your lottery money (or telling anyone you won), call every one of your friends and family and tell them you have fallen on hard times and need to borrow $500. Of course, most--if not all--will probably tell you they can't or won't lend you the money. Then, about a week later, step forward and claim your lottery money. You will then rest easy knowing that if any of those friends and family come forward to hit you up for money, you can easily deny them without feeling guilty. In fact, most would probably be too ashamed to ask for money knowing they just denied loaning you $500.

@cintol Exactly! They wouldn't dare ask for a piece of the lottery winnings knowing they just turned you down for a loan of $500.

OMG, that is a great idea, they would feel so bad and sit back and slap themselves for not lending the money knowing there is no way they will ever get a piece of the pie now.

That thought is totally inconceivable to me. For that one could literally build a city, shops, hospitals, schools and open it up to less fortunate people to live there and in turn they could get jobs.

I don't agree with the money being so high. It would be smarter to have more winners with smaller amount to win. Nobody needs that kind of money.

That state does allow them to stay anonymous. If I won I would pay everything off that I owe then go house shopping somewhere that stays warmer all year. My family could not bother me then either. After I got there I would probably start a rescue for critters and deserving humans.
