No fear of black cats here

That's Sonny James in the photo. He says not to worry if you visit his house. He'll not show his handsome face until you leave- he's one of those private souls.
Happy Halloween! is writ large on him though he probably is very weary of me telling him the tale of black cats and their prominence in Halloween lore.
Please be kind if you happen on a black cat in October and all the months to follow. Most black cats are more afraid of you than you of them.

@rebelann Trophies..... I started to step outside my mobile yesterday. There on the metal part of the bottom of the door lay a sheaf of pretty large feathers. Black. Bloody end like somebody had yanked good off a bird. Total blah.

I have a black named Devil and her son is named Demon. Love both of them. They are both outside kitties so not a lot of pictures of them.

They say in our place if you encounter a black cat you will have a series of unfortunate events in the near future. Though I don't believe in that saying.

@dave121495 Some people over here in the United States feel the same way. I'm glad you don't believe in that superstition.

@dave121495 Some animal shelters here in the U S won't adopt out black cats around Halloween cause they are afraid that people only want them for nasty reasons. I sincerely hope their fears are silly but better safe than sorry for the innocent cat.

I think that belief is slowly dying our already since less and less people do become fearful if they see one cross their path. I see a lot of them pass me by and I do not know if they really gave me any ill feeling or bad luck on me. So I really do not believe any of that superstition anymore.

I had a black cat named Fluffdaddy, he was a great kitty! However, he did have a habit of trying to get out of the house..once setting off the alarm!

He's a sweetheart. My daughter loves black cats. Has had several. Black cats get a bad wrap.
