Amazon pay

I opted for a facility with Amazon where one can load money into 'Amazon pay' that makes payment easy, for items ordered There is also an auto load. I was not aware that I had enabled this 'auto load' facility where Amazon automatically loads my 'Amazon pay' up to a prescribed limit using my card and this it does without asking for my CVV nor does it require an OTP. I have now disabled it and would prefer to do it myself Hope wisdom dawned on me at the right time. I just cannot digest the fact that anyone can remove money from my bank account without my help.

Yikes! I would prefer to do it all by myself.

@DianneN But it is kind of giving into a temptation at a cost

It's good that you have disabled it. They were able to withdraw money without your permission because you had provided your details to them while opting for auto load.

@Rosain I think I am to be blamed as I may not have seen the permission I gave them. All is well now

I will not allow any one or facility that right to auto load. They are sneaky though, in getting your permission. It is a good idea to be able to do the Amazon pay, but it is deceptive if they auto load.

They did it only once but the moment I noticed it I disabled it. No matter how reliable anyone is I will not give someone the right to take money from my bank.

I use the auto load function on Amazon pay and find it useful as I use Amazon for a lot of things. I need to authorise this the first time. So far 8v3 not had any problems.

@allknowing interesting. For the initial authorisation you need to give permission and amount to reload and threshold.

@pitstop I loaded that initial amount myself following the same procedure that is applied while making payment for my orders in the normal course.

I do not remember authorising them unless that option was already ticked and I did not disable it. I too shop a lot but would prefer if I did the reload.

If you give permission they can. But I prefer to not let them.

But I still wonder how they can without knowing my CVV. May be the bank let's them if I give them permission

@allknowing I know here we can give permission so I would guess that is how.

@rakski Don't they need my CVV and an OTP? Unless I gave them permission inadvertently and the bank gave a nod?

Amazon is really legit and that is a fact. Jeff Bezos is really good and great.
