Just now I came to my hometown.
I am living in Neyveli Township where the Thermal Power Plant is located.
The Power required for the entire South India has been generated here.
Totally there are two mines (mine 1 (mine 1 and mine 1 expansion) and mine 2) The raw material used is lignite.
We have a resource for next 30 years but considering the future generations we are slowly moving to Solar power. (Currently solar power plant is being installed)
I try to post the pic of the thermal power plant before leaving to Chennai city.
Also, the soil is much suitable for cashew nut tress and jackfruit trees.
Image from my phone camera.

Do you visit your hometown regularly?

@Lignitecityabishek96 Cashews are incredibly expensive in the rest of the world. I’ll take your word for it.

I live in my hometown and came back in 1986 after being gone for eight or so years. I hope to move south once I retire unless my mom is still living. She's ninety, but could live another ten years like her sister.
Do you work at the power plant or somewhere else near there and how far away is that from your home town?
Our store now sells jackfruit whole and it's usually around $27.00 for the whole thing. Sometimes the produce dept will slice it up so people can try it. I'm not sure that I will though.

@Lignitecityabishek96 Ours is $1.79 per pound. But, surprisingly people, or some, don't have a problem paying for some new fruit. One person bought it when it first came out, to serve at his superbowl party that year.
