Winning the war on the black flies

I think I am anyway. After my post-work nap (which was interrupted several times by buzzing flies), I got up and grabbed the spray bottle of water and several drops of dish detergent. I shook it up and went around the house shooting the solution directly onto as many flies as I could find. It was amazing how quickly it killed them. Then, of course, I had to go around cleaning up fly carcasses but I got some pleasure out of that. I have 2 more days to try to kill as many as I can before we leave for Mexico. Hopefully at that point the rest of them will just die from their natural life cycle. The parrot will be strictly on dry food while we are good so there won't be any food thrown down at the bottom of her cage for flies to feed on. These suckers need to DIE. The good news is that there are already quite a few less than there were just 2 days ago.

To kill the worms that invaded our oak tree, we sprayed it down with water mixed with Amway dish soap. It killed every single one! I hate black flies, with a purple passion:(

@NJChicaa Usually, we go to a garden center and ask them what works best.

I had to kill it one today. It's too warm and, unfortunately, they're still here.
