Who should pay for the dates?

I was thinking of a good discussion to post so I asked Google for help. For today, let's talk about first day of dating. I'm not sure other country's tradition but here in the Philippines, most of the time guys pay for dates. Here is the thing. I was scrolling my Facebook page and I happened to see a post of a woman. She mentioned that the guy who she dated for the first time was asking for a refund. So what happened was, the guy voluntarily paid for their meal however, I think the lady wasn't interested in the guy so she probably said she's not interested in any second date. After few days, she received an email from that guy with a photo of the receipt and is asking for a refund. So for guys, what is your honest thoughts about this? And why do guys insist, most of the time, in paying the bills. For ladies, what do you think about this one? And, are you the type that let's the man pay for everything during dates or the type who prefers to split the bill? Share your thoughts below. ^_^
