It's Been A rough month will it only get worse?

Sometimes it just seems like I have the worst luck in the world. First My hot water tank falls through the floor. Then it almost catches on fire. Luckily we were all up at the time. I have bad sinus this time of year so I smelled nothing. The kids smelled smoke and I immediately turned the tank off. Now after a inspection and all that this shady plumber wants to charge me a arm and a leg for a few hours of work. Says he's charging me $100 a hour just for changing a few things. is this legal? I hope things get better before they get worse. So how was your month so far?
