Cruising for the first time

My mom decided two weeks ago that she wanted to go on a cruise and then started searching about them. After several cruise line websites and reviews, looking at itineraries, destinations and dates... She settled for a Carnival cruise to the Bahamas.
A short one, three days only, since I can't take a lot of days off from work.
This is our first time going on a cruise and we're excited and scared about the experience, hopefully it'll be enjoyable for us and we'll want to do it again with a different destination.
Anyone here has gone on a cruise? I would love to read about your experiences.

@septabchips I think that's great! If you have the opportunity you should go for it and go on a cruise :) we've read and watch a lot of reviews and it sounds like a lot of fun
