Social anxiety

From a very young age I have experienced social anxiety. Teachers would always just say how I’m shy. Well I always had a feeling it had to be more than just being shy. I mean I could replay things over and over in my head until I did or didn’t say them.
Public speaking was sheer torture for me! I would count the days till my speech. Then the day would arrive, So i’d Count the hours. Next thing I know I’m in the classroom to deliver my speech. Beating myself up in my head with all the worry of what could go wrong. Then the dreaded moment, my name was called! The things I would have traded to do instead of be up in front of a class delivering my speach. The thought that everyone is staring at your every move and listening to every single word you say with such judgement.
There are some more details I have to share about my path to help social anxiety and how it made me who I am today, but I’ll save that for later.
I wanted this to be an open and relaxed area on giving tips, tricks or any kind words to those who struggle with social anxiety. Also any questions would be awesome!

Thank you very much for sharing. I also deal with depression and anxiety so I understand, and am always looking for new coping strategies.
