Would you rather your employer gave you a bonus or an extra day off?

I am lucky and work at a job where I can pretty much choose my own hours so I would much rather have a cash bonus. I actually don't mind my job (most days).

I've never heard anyone say they can't use "extra" money. Thanks for your response.

boss - I have a great boss. We are allowed to set our own days and hours to suit our schedules. As long as the work gets done, he's happy. It works for all of us.
I'd rather have a bonus (which I do) than an extra day off. I set my own days and hours, so I'm off whenever I want. My boss is very generous with his bonus also. He is one who definitely appreciates us 3 hard working women in his office. It's a pleasure to work for him.

Wow Claudia! It sounds like you're working in a great environment. I'm sure you're very grateful that your boss appreciates you and shows it. Thank you for responding.

Extra day off definitely, time is more precious to me! Do so much with an extra day off. If you get a bonus then it is TAXED! I ALWAYS go for TIME and NOT money!

I agree time off is great. Of course time off with pay would be worth the payment of taxes, right? Thanks for your response!

I think I would prefer to have the extra day off. Most people work long hours these days for which they receive additional compensation. These same folks, I might add, are always fatigued. So, I think they would benefit from the extra day off.

I hear you Truewater2. I think people sometimes get too money focused and providing them an extra day off might just make them think about what really matters in life - family and friends. Thanks for your reply.

Luckily, I'm able to work for myself right now, but back when I was a corporate drone, I would have preferred a cash bonus. Those were pretty rare, though, because of budgetary constraints, so I usually got a comp day.

Thanks for your reply. When I was in the corporate environment I would have preferred a real day off.
