This news is really upsetting, The chinese government wanted to encourage Chinese medicine as part of the culture so they decided lift the ban of medicines made of Rhinoceros horns and tiger bones. The ban is what keeps these animals from extinction. It has been proven there is no health benefits from using them as medicine. This will make the black markets aggressive on hunting them again. I am against GMO but now I want scientist to genetically modify these animals to become poisonous for human consumption. poachers of rhinos are so aggressive about getting horns they sneak inside zoos to kill rhinos. I hate reading about all these bans being lifted . . . there were huge reasons why people fought so hard to have these bans in place - and now we're going backwards. Hunting for animals on the extinct list . . . have these people who want to kill these animals ever realize that after they are gone there will be no more of them at all?

The fact the nutrition of a Rhino horn is found on beans and eggs means there is no more reason to get their horns. Also why do they have to kill them to get the horns, when the horn grows back

@CaptAlbertWhisker I'll bet they think it's just easier to kill the whole animal rather than trying to figure out how to extract the horn while keeping it alive. If rhino horn nutrition is true, well humans certainly don't deserve to have it!

@much2say Which is not true, they will have more horns to harvest if they keep the rhino alive. Yeah the nutrition of rhino is more of a placebo effect. Keratin can easily be found on eggs and pork rinds.

I wish a moon colony will become a thing and rhinos and tigers will be bred there away from the poachers.

Rhino horn's nutrition is Keratin... We can find Keratin fish, eggs and beans! No need to kill Rhinos to have it
