On the 14th day of Chaturdoshi, that is month of Kartik, Hindus light up 14 diyas. They are made up of mud. With oil and cotton solte, the diyas are lit up. Goddess Laxmi is also worshipped on the day. The entire festival of Diwali continues for 5 days. It brings relatives and friends closer to each other.
