My Little Golden Jewel

A fond memory of my childhood was when my Mom would make me a bowl of hot cereal. She always put a little pat of butter on top. Most every time, I would find a small part of unmelted butter. What a sweet treat. Usually my first couple of spoon digs in my bowl were in search of the rest of that little golden jewel. As an adult, I sometimes make myself a bowl of hot cereal with a pat of butter. Again, I search for and always find the golden jewel. What are some of your fond childhood memories?

Aww, that is nice. The fun thing about nice memories like that is that you can reflect on them any time you want to. They are sure to bring a smile to your face and a warm fuzzy heart.

I remember numerous bicycles I had as a kid. I don't remember which one I had first. I do, however, remember when I finally graduated from training wheels. I was pretty hot stuff being able to ride a bike without training wheels. Then I got a little crazy and crashed a few times. Oh well; kids will be kids I suppose. Cherish those memories. They are very special.

I liked when my grandmother cooked. She spent long time cooking but the dish came out delicious.

Sometimes the better tasting dishes require longer prep times. It's worth the wait though.

@betlynfrnds I like many dishes that many people don´t like because my grandmother prepared them when I was a child. Those dishes came along with love, just as your pat of butter.

@sofssu That's right - in those days we spoke actual words and not abbreviations.
