Organic is not just another 7 letter word

I have been around the city talking to people who shop every day for their groceries and more and more I hear, not just by other shoppers but by produce managers and people in general that organic food is the best way to go for better health and nutrition.
I do not hear that much about just how much more expensive organic foods are, although it is obvious to most people and to me, that organic foods are usually at least 10 to 20 percent higher in price in general than national generic brand foods.
I have tasted organic milk. It tastes just like milk I drank from personal experience at the farm where my sister lives. It costs more than regular grade milk but it actually does taste more like milk directly from the cow. And there is nothing better in my opinion.
What food or drink do you like to buy that is organic and how much better tasting is it and do you think people should go for more organic foods to get better taste, better nutrition and better health results?

I go for organic products wherever I find them. But I am not sure if I am getting real organic products by paying that extra bucks. It is more of psychological thing.

Look for this label to be sure you are getting USDA ORGANIC

@arunima25 , If it comes from the USA it should have USDA ORGANIC on the label, if it was processed in the United States. USDA stands for United States Department of Agriculture. I do not know what label is put on produce or other meats or seafood that is harvested, processed and distributed in other countries that is considered organic but in the USA, the label reflects food that is grown, processed, distributed and sold within the United States.

This is the third installment of the Organic 101 series that explores different aspects of the USDA organic regulations. Amidst nutrition facts, ingredients lists, and dietary claims on food packages, “organic” might appear as one more piece of information

I dont buy too much in organic at the store because of the price difference. But most of my vegetables are organic and the meat I have was raised without hormones or antibiotics.

I regularly buy organic foods but I can't taste any difference and I'm not sure if it is healthier but I buy it when I can.

Now I feel foolish for having been essentially contradicted as to organic food tasting better, not necessarily, and healthier, not necessarily and I need a cup of coffee now necessarily although the creamer will not be organic.

@lookatdesktop I'm not trying to contradict you and remember not all organic food will taste the same. It all depends on how it is grown and where.

I tend to go for organic with regards to meat and fish as I am sure that how animals are reared has an affect overall. When it comes to GM, I'd like to be sure it is totally safe and sometimes I get the feeling that the spokespersons have been taking tips from politicians and being creative about the answers

As to GM or rather, GMO foods, I favor ORGANIC whenever available.

Organic foods are definitely more expensive otherwise I would buy more. A shame when it comes to health, products that are better for you always cost more. I do buy organic eggs which are tasty!
