Here I go again, sharing some of my covers. I just cannot help myself. I did this one back in February of 2017 and had a lot of fun with it. It is such a simple song. But I can remember how much of an impact this song had when it aired on Miami Vice and captured the world. My version probably won't capture the world, but maybe it can capture MyLot? I hope you enjoy it. Hey, it's better than my last corny joke at least isn't it? On a side note, when I do these, I do all of the parts with my guitar. As for the drums, I write those into a drum program I use. I do not use backing tracks ever.
I actually had a lot of fun with this one. It was such a simple drum track to write, and while the song was not really written for guitar, I always like to try to MAKE it a guitar song. Phil Collins i

Such a worthwhile thing you do Jim. I love it and it has such meaning because it is uniquely yours. Thanks for brightening my day.

Glad you liked it as well. If one person enjoys it, it's good enough for me.

I'm not much for remakes. It's the original that makes the tune. Like Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You. I hate to hear Houston's rendition.

@TheHorse ......Country music pretty much sounds a like to me. Unless there is a good voice and lyric in there somewhere. Dolly is one of these.

@celticeagle Did Dolly write most of her own stuff?

I want to challenge this. I love a good argument. What about Jimi's cover of All Along the Watchtower? Or Cream's cover of Crossroads? Or even Emmylou Harris and Don Williams doing Townes's If I Needed You?
If I needed you, would you come to me? Would you come to me for to ease my pain? If you needed me, I would come to you. I would swim the sea for to ease your...

I like this song because it was used as background music for Miami Vice.

Yeah, that show definitely put that song on the map...or was it the other way around? Either way.

Here's my latest. Came out yesterday. Enjoy. Totally raw. No overdubs or reverb.

@porwest He was one of my childhood idols. I'd like to do Song For a Winters Night. But I haven't found the mojo yet. Leave a comment if you can!

@TheHorse I did. If you can do "weird" music much like I like to do...I would actually think it would be fun to do a collaboration with you.

Thanks so much for sharing. Would it be wrong of me to think back to Gordon Lightfoot?

I would love to hear it but I’m on my iPad and it has no sound. I’m sure you did a great job.

Didn't he use MORE reverb on the vocals? Or some other effect?

That was awesome! I'm going to be looking for you other covers. I like your version better than the Phil Collins one.

Glad you liked it. I kept it simple for this one and just kept the same drum part throughout. Writing drums probably takes me the most time when I do these. The guitar is easy.
