Shop Til You Drop

I had such a wonderful day today. I walked for 8 miles, treated 3 friends at our country club for lunch, and then we all went on a shopping spree. While we were shopping for clothes, shoes, purses, and other girly things, our son and his bride were shopping for their family room in there new house. As their housewarming gift, we gave them carte blanche on furniture. Their den is done, and they received delivery today on a bar, coffee table, and end tables. They still need an area rug, lamps, something over the bar, and artwork. The decorator comes Saturday for their dining room and living room. I love what they’ve done so far! Our son stopped by a little while ago, but left after an hour’s visit. We are both ready to drop from shopping.

@DianneN - It sounds like so much fun, but exhausting, too! I've been sitting here on my laptop, ordering Christmas gifts for my Delaware grandkids! LOL

@playertwo - I am so sorry to hear this. I hope you have a group of friends or an organization where you can spend your Christmas. You may enjoy volunteering at a soup kitchen or homeless shelter on that day. I volunteer at a homeless shelter and find it very rewarding.

It’s a good way to get exhausted. Lol! I am done with my holiday shopping, so I can concentrate on myself for a change. I have been through the wringer. Enjoy your shopping for the grandkids! Here’s a bit of the bar area as of now.

. Shopping is my hobby. It used to be my sport until I became active in sports. Beats me. I haven't made reservations, yet.

My part was delicious. My son and his wife worry that they are making the right choice, but I approve everything through texts. They are giving me a headache.

Your parents are generous, too. Some parents don't buy a thing for their children.

Well thank you very much. It is a huge room - long and wide, which means more and more furniture. lol Enjoy your bike ride with your friends. I can't wait to get to Florida where my bike is. I love riding along the shoreline.

Thanks, Hanni. My parents were good to us, so we do what we can for the family, too. They are very happy shopping, but it's a labor intensive process and they both work. Thank goodness my son makes his own hours, so can be around for deliveries.

Looking good so far. Yes, it does need some decorator touches. I'm sure you were in your element - shopping till you dropped. I know you had fun at both shopping and lunch. Walking 8 miles would do me in. I'm glad you're up for the challenge.

Thank you. Furnishing their house is a slow and expensive project, but it will get done within 20 years. It was an awesome shopping day, but it left me drained. The walking I'm used to doing.
