Between getting caught up in today's snowstorm and watching football all day, I just realized that I haven't yet pulled out my Girlfinder on this fine Sunday. We are at #19: "Walk this World" by Heather Nova.
Born and raised in Bermuda, Heather Nova was part of the 1990's wave of female rock singer/songwriters that included Alanis Morrissette, Liz Phair, Natalie Imbruglia, Fiona Apple, Melissa Etheridge, and on and on.
From her 1994 album, Oyster (her second,) "Walk this World" is a radio/listener friendly piece of indie-pop that fans of that 90's era girl power thing should enjoy. The single didn't really make an impact inside the mainstream (other than in New Zealand, where it hit #19 on that country's Top 40 chart,) but did reach #13 on the Billboard Modern Rock Tracks chart.
"Walk this World" might not have had the impact of Morrissette's "You Oughta Know," but it definitely had the makings of being a bigger hit than it was. Too bad.

I hate that. Happens to me sometimes. I get it a lot with Thievery Corporation. And they are American. Weird.

@Ronrybs - Interesting. I honestly didn't realize that you could do that. I might have to go mess around with the settings.

@teamfreak16 I sometimes pretend that I am in the US, but it can slow down the stream

Interesting.... The girl caught my attention so I thought I'd give her tune a listen. Enjoyed her video And I'll give her a 'ring."

She's really good. Too bad that she really has never caught on as much as some of the others.

Well, 250, 000 views, I look at some of these punk songs and go 2000, really. There is a lot of music out there now and usually the ones that take people away from real like are the ones with the biggest hits. Sad but true. Cool song, never heard of it, has a nice vibe and tone to it.

She's not hugely popular, but she has sold over two million albums.

Huh. With all the female singers at that time, you would think that they might have played it.

Gotta tell you: with the opening guitar riffs I was waiting for someone to say, "Foxy!"
