What would you do if your spouse wasn't interested in intimacy?

This is something that I have been pondering for a while, as a good friend of mine is caught in this exact predicament. Her husband has no interest WHATSOEVER...it has been several years since they have had 'relations.' She has not and does not plan to cheat. The most active times in their marriage were when they planned to have children. He is not the effeminate type at all, so there is no reason to suspect anything leaning in that direction. He just simply is not interested. What would you do if you were in her shoes? I feel badly for her. I have heard of this problem moreso with men and their wives and not wanting to than vice versa. Thoughts?
