Do you have OCD or obsessive compulsive disorder?

OCD comes in different forms. There are people who are obsessive with hygiene. But mine is a bit different. It’s like this.
When I leave the house, i have to check the lock several times or i at least stare at it for minutes. But my husband’s case is worse. I think he has to return to the door five times even if he has walked some meters away. And it takes him half an hour before he desides to leave, that is annoying.
Also, i cannot touch the door knob of a toilet. I use tissue or anything, just not to touch it.
Whenever my finger or hair or towel touches my lips, i brush my teeth even if im done doing it. Very weird, right?
Or when i drop my newly washed clothes into a clean floor, i will wash it again.
What about you?

I'm thankful that I don't have anything like that at this time.

@Janet357 It is possible that we all have a touch of some form of ocd. I used to like shaking people's hands. I don't seem to like it anymore. So, if a person doesn't take the initiative to shake my hand then I won't make a move either. I do check if my door is still locked from time to time.

@Janet357 Sometimes, I prefer to throw them away and buy me a new and cheap one. I know where to buy cheap and brand new clothing

I am OCD about several things but none of them have to do with hygiene.

I'm not OCD any little bit. Checking lock on doors or knobs on the stove I wouldn't consider to be OCD but more safety conscious. Except for needing to check more than once that is over the top. Unless he's not thinking about what he's doing and isn't sure he ever did it.
My daughter is very compulsive with hygiene. When her dishes go through the dishwasher she uses disinfectant to wipe the outside of her dishes. When riding in our cars she cleans the door handles, that type of thing

I have bit of it, but it is not severe. I check the locks several times (both the front door and the car door) My husband does the same and sometimes we go back to check it is really locked.
Like you I don't like to touch the door knob of a toilet. I use a tissue or use my hand sanitizer if I have to touch it.

@Janet357 Yes, if I don't have a tissue, I use my hand sanitizer. I always carry it in my bag.

I use papers towels to turn the faucet on , flush the toilet or open the bathroom doors in public places. I do not sit on public toilets either. I squat or cover the seat.

It sounds like your husband probably has clinical OCD as that must effect his life. The other things are tendencies but probably not clinical. Just quirks. I don't have anything like this but my partner is very particular about how things are done but I think he is on the Asperger spectrum x

I do not suffer from this conditon, but a close relative does. One Christmas only she could use the kitchen and she could not eat at the same table as the rest of us. I made the mistake of fetching a spoon from the drawer and it wsa the end of the world for her. I do understand it is not the person being awkward and a very and annoying mental health issue. Thankfully, she seems better at the moment and has even stopped panicking if I foret to take my shoes of and wash my hands when I enter the house. It seems to go in phases.

@CarolDM :)) i know one house like that ms. Carol. The engineer of my husband’s company. Her house is small and crowded. Crowded with trash then she has so many dogs. In her yard , the dogs’ feces and urine scatter around. Then the plants are untrimmed and the surrounding is always wet so mosquitoes and flies fly around her house. My goodness!
When he entered the house, he didnt know where is the kitchen or the toilet or the stockroom. They all look the same.
