Twins - How to tell which one is older.

I always believed that the elder twin was the one who came out first regardless of the manner (normal delivery or cesarean). But I was told that it was the other way around. That the reason was the older twin (who developed first) was pushed deeper into the womb while making way for the growth of the younger twin - hence its nearer to the birth canal. Anyone else heard of this?

that makes not sense. if i and another person are in a car, the last person to come out, is actually the first? does it go by whose closer to the steering wheel?

I get what you're saying but I guess there's other things to consider like what's going on inside the mother's body while pregnant.
