I saw my teenage daughter go through depression and it broke my heart.
I wish there is something I could do to make all the hurts go away.
With prayers and me reaching out to compassionate friends, I was able to cope with her depression and understood what she might need to hear from me as her mom.
As I have heard and read and feel, it will take awhile for the person to completely heal and be over it.
People who never experienced it will simply and cold heartedly say, try to be happy, that is so easy to say than done.
The person who is so sad can't just suddenly be as cheerful as the sun.
People with depression are going through something that even don't understand and people around them who are not even trying to understand them are not helping them by being angry towards people who are depressed and sometimes angry.
It takes a lot of effort on the side of the person with depression to reach out and nobody can ever force them to reach out, because the more they do that the more the person with depression will clam up and will take longer for her or him to recover from what he or she is experiencing.
It is also helpful to have supportive and understanding people around the person who is depressed.
The worst thing that could ever happen to a depressed person is there is nobody there for them.
No medication can ever fully heal a depressed person, it may help, but it will take awhile.

I’m honestly not sure, I have only just started dealing with my depression.I would just say that finding someone you can talk to and seeking help. For me anyway it helps me to focus on something positive I can do such as tidying my room.

Think of happy or positive things. Do something that makes you happy like eating something you love, going out with friends and even a great sleep would help. Find time to talk to your loved ones about your problems and share what you feel to let it all out so they can help.
