The Weird Star in the Sky

November 17, 2018 1:11pm CST
The other night I went out to get some stuff from the nearby convenience store, I looked up and saw a shooting star. It made me smile cuz I haven't seen one since I was a small kid. Then I remembered this one time when I was young, about seven years old. I saw this weird thing in the sky. It was 6AM, I was outside waiting for our school service to pick us up. Me and my older sisters would have a contest -- the first one ready for school and is outside gets to sit next to our school driver. The reason is simple, ya don't get squished by the other kids and their huge bags if you sit next to the driver. Anyway, since I was the most fussy and difficult to dress, my grandmother would always tend to me first. But that morning, I looked up, it was still a little dark at 6AM, and I could still see that star that only appears when Christmas is near. I saw this little light, it looked like a star to me, slowly moving towards the other brighter star and pretty much stopped ALMOST behind it. It boggled me for a very long while, I even asked my teachers what it was but no one gave me a decent answer. Til I was in highschool, someone finally gave me a logical one and perhaps the correct one. "It was probably a sattelite" The nice canteen lady told me.

The nice canteen lady was probably correct. When the night sky is clear enough, the angle of the sun just over the horizon just right, and the satellite reflective enough, you may be able to catch a glimpse of one.

Very true. And to think she didn't get to finish her studies but still managed to give the best answer unlike the smart people I knew at that time.
