So, first the $15.24 was actually the amount of change I cashed in at coinstar today. It usually signifies how much I got for selling things at the thrift store, but this time it doesn't mean that.
Secondly, I am super happy right now. I found a book that I was wanting to get and was able to get it absolutely free! I would have paid about the same amount as it was priced at, but I would have had to get it online. Finding it at the thrift store meant I could get it free with the gift card I have!
The Broken Girls by Simone St. James $5.00 (Book I wanted!!!)
The Other Einstein by Marie Benedict $3.00 (I got this because the back said it was similar to books by Lynn Cullen (I think is her name) and I like one of her books)
The Pale Horsemen by Benedict Cornwell $1.50
The House Of Dreams by Kate Lord Brown $2.00 (I've been eyeing this for awhile and decided to get it)
I got an amazon giftcard code with my change and came home to order a pair of leggings through ebates so I can get cashback.
What good deals / values have you found lately?
What is on your "To Be Read" list?

I altered 3 pairs of thrift store jeans today. Two pair for myself onenpair for my daughter. Total spent $6.
I read (actually listened to) The Other Einstein. It was decent, but not spectacular.

Ah, well have you read or listened to anything by Lynn Cullen? I've read Mrs. Poe by her and I enjoyed it, I have Twain's End that I intend to read soon.
I was never taught to sew. I am no good with crochet or knitting, I am not sure apt I'd be at sewing either. If I can't fix it with an iron on patch or get someone else to do it, I just have to chuck the jeans.

@SophiaMorros I was never really encouraged to learn. Even my stint with crochet wasn't exactly encouraged. It wasn't discouraged, but my mother and aunt, who both learned crochet from my grandmother's friend, didn't go out of their way to encourage it.
I picked up a loom for awhile, and it was okay, but I was constantly miscounting or not casting off correctly. I managed a scarf and a hat once though.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I have not read any Lynn Cullen, at least not recently.
I taught myself to sew as a teenager. I've been branching out in the last couple of years. Altering jeans (turning flare jeans into straight leg for me and straight leg into skinny for my daughter) is something I've only started doing recently.

There are some great movies on amazon prime and netflix. I do sometimes go through them and see what there is to be watched.

I read both e-books and regular print books. I haven't read all that much lately either, but I will be starting the Simone St. James book soon.

Sounds like a good day all round, I need to read more, I read 40 books the year before my son was born and I have probably read about 6 in the 4 years since. I drive 3 hours a day so I have started listening to audiobooks so I am at least getting to absorb the stories, although it's not the same. I am currently listening to the discovery of witches, I am on the last book nearly 60 hours in, it's fab x

I still think listening to audiobooks or podcasts count as reading! I listen to podcasts sometimes when I go out for a walk. I couldn't tell you how many I've read this year, but then I prefer reading over watching the television.

@Shellyjane Mine has been getting me into watching more t.v. as well. Though I do have a show or two that I like to try to keep up with. There's the Sabrina series on netflix, I watch that as I used to watch the original series as a kid.
