Do you go shopping on Black Friday?

My mother and sister get up at like 4 am and go out to the stores for their "early bird" sales. I think they miss the rush of the midnight crowd and then all of the people who go out later at a more "normal" time. Me? I avoid all stores for the whole weekend. I'll do some online shopping but I don't go out and buy anything in person. The crowds and fights for parking are just not for me. Any potential savings is negated by the hassle. Do you go out shopping on Black Friday?

In a word, no. If you would like more than "a word," just remember I was in the Navy for six years and the other words might not be suitable for all audiences......

My wife and I went out shopping on Black Friday, once, 20 some odd years ago. Never again. Now we stay home and shop online. Considering some of the violence that takes place in stores on Black Friday - and it seems to get more widespread every year - it is just not worth the risk.

I'm not afraid of the violence but I have no patience for the crowds and lines

Nope! After swearing I wouldn't, I went to Toys'r'Us for a black friday deal... the craft boxes just suckered me for 10$. It was not worth it. People fighting, grabbing stuff from peoples carts, ramming carts into people and children... its just awful. A day after everyone is supposedly thankful and grateful for their lives and they are assaulting people and children for material things. No thank you!
