I Tackled The Monster

United States
November 20, 2018 9:53am CST
The Monster was not a spider or any other type of creepy crawly. It wasn't a mountain of laundry that's been needed doing. It wasn't scrubbing of the floors or vacuuming of the house. It wasn't even a good scrub down of the bathroom and kitchen. No, this monster was a hill. I tackled it today. Some might remember that I had climbed this hill once before and decided never to again. I have gone down the hill once or twice since, but never back up it. The hill is actually a street in my neighborhood and it's more of an incline that steadies and then winds back down. Anyway, I tackled it again this morning. Mostly for the heart points. Mostly because I didn't want to do it. I did it anyway. What have you done lately that you didn't want to do?

@Plethos The thing I hate the most is the lingering cough!

Not too much admittently, but tomorrow I plan on tackling several rather odious tasks.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes, nothing really more aggravating then when something you are working on disappears. Well, I guess you will have to wait and be surprised at who is in attendance at your Tgiving.

Grr! I somehow hit the button that closes the window. Or rather, tapped the key as it was some keyboard shortcut I activated. I do that too many times to count! Anyway, let's try this again shall we? This will be the second time I've typed out this response. Today (which was your tomorrow) I got up early and went to the store. I needed to get the chicken and the peas for today's dinner. I'm making BBQ Chicken with Brown Rice and Peas. I love mixing my peas with the bbq sauce, I'm weird that way. I also had to call my aunt to ask her when to arrive for Thanksgiving. I told her I wasn't sure whether my niece and nephew would be in attendance. I texted my sister to ask her, her response was "IDK" So, "IDK" either. Of course with them, you never know. I hope that your odious tasks will go by quickly and you'll be able to spend the rest of your day relaxing.

@snowy22315 Well, I know it will most likely be a lot of people. This will be a bit nervewracking for me as I am not the best with crowds. My cousin who has been in and out of the hospital, rehab facilities and now lives in an assisted living place will be at my aunt's for thanksgiving, supposedly.

I'm going through that right now . We are clearing out MILs house to move her (we didn't want this to happen this way but sister in law did). We are having to get rid of MILs stuff when all she wants to do is keep it all . . . it's heartbreaking .

I am sure it's hard for everyone involved! My ex husband's great grandmother was moved from her home several years ago now, and we had to do much the same. We ended up with the majority of it, well I guess it's probably all been donated or sold now.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It's been tough - and we were just told last night that she may have to move into her senior home over the weekend! Oh my gosh we moved in tons of stuff here too - a lot of artwork that's too hard to part with - and we have no room for it. But yah, a lot of stuff was donated.

I have to climb a hill with a very steep incline every Friday. My niece runs up it. I cheer her on at a slower pace. We don't really do hills here in the Flatlands. As for doing something I didn't want to do. I went on an aeroplane.

Yes, I see children running up hills and think "Wow, I remember when I could do that without being too winded." I've not yet flown in a plane, but one day I would like to go "Across the pond" and so I will have to do bear the flight.

At the moment, I will give myself a rest for troubling myself with the task I have.

It's always good to take time to step back and rest. Being well rested is a good thing.

Good for you. If you keep pushing yourself to be more active you will definitely feel better for it. I feel loads better since I started getting more active. I know usually do about 20,000 steps a day.

I need to buy myself a fitbit again to properly track all my steps. I do feel a lot better when I go for a walk daily. There was a week I didn't because I had a cold, but otherwise as long as it's not raining, I"ll be out walking.

@ScribbledAdNauseum They are very useful I had the flex to start with but I would recommend one with a screen though they are more expensive.I find being able to see the numbers go up encourages me to walk more.

It's cold here, but not nearly cold enough to snow.

I'm about to go clean out the chicken coop, but I guess that doesn't technically count until I've actually done it.

I haven't done much else other than what I wrote. I did write an article for a site I use though. Too late to do anything else. I'll watch one of my favorite national news journalists here in a half hour though.
