Do you watch the news?

(or for that matter read the newspaper).
I used to read the Newspaper every day, to stay on top of the many events going on in the world. In fairness, I stopped, more because as much as I was traveling, there was no point to having a paper at home. Now, I don't any longer, but I started watching the evening news.
I find that I get frustrated with the news and I ended up switching to ABC news. They actually end the broadcast every night to a happy or heroic story.
Do you need that as well? Or is it just me that has to end bad news with an uplifting story...

@Janet357 No the US news agencies now actually have a feel good story at the end.

I agree, it is why I only watch the news if I know there is a happy story at the end!

@DocAndersen I read the official online newspapers, not the fake news posted by silly people online.

I read internet news, but it isn't bound to the same rules as TV broadcasts are. You can post anything as news on the internet.

I used to go buy the newspaper on Fridays but then stopped. I watch news online and have two places here in Israel that I go to.

Yes, it is. I like to know what is happening here and when I cannot be on the computer to check then I wait till I go on and see what I missed.

@DocAndersen I don't mind watching the news or reading newspapers but nowadays I can't help but take almost everything with a grain of salt. I don't really have much trust in what we are all being told. I'm not saying everything is a lie but a lot of "news" does get lied about or dramatised.
And same as you, it can become a bit too much hearing one bad thing after another. Though I like to know, I still need breaks from it.

I understand, my issue with the internet is that it is often false.

The news is very bad or sad mostly, I don't watch it much. My faith and trust are in God so I don't have to worry about what's going on.
