I don't celebrate Thanksgiving day. I wonder if this day is like Christmas. Families reunions, a nice environment. I know that turkey is the symbol of this day. In our country turkey is not a popular food and it's expensive. Do you celebrate Thanksgiving Day? What are your plans for this day?

Thanksgiving is celebrated only in the United States and Canada, we do not celebrate Thanksgiving in Europe. If you want to know the reason of the celebration, you can read here.

Here people tend to borrow celebrations from the United States. It's interesting to know the reasons of celebration.

@dya80dya I know, Europe always copy from the United States, even the bad habits, like their garbage food.

Yes we celebrate. I saw Anna's answer and I will say that Canadians celebrate it in October. I don't know whether they too way turkeys that day. We will be going to my brother's home for the meal and take food ourselves too. We get together as a family, those off us in Michigan for Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, sometimes mother's day which is in May, and we used to get together in July for my mom's birthday. She has dementia now but sometimes it's easier for family further away to come in the summer rather than Christmas
