This morning as I watch my doughnut cactus in bloom I crave for doughnuts. Its cold out here and I feel like a nice warm cinnamony doughnut with a steaming hot cup of coffee.
Sadly that may not be possible as I am off sugar. So I made myself a hot steaming cup of coffee with a sprinkle of cinnamon on it.. Sometimes its good to fake things.. Lol and cheat yourself, its worth it. I love coffee and I can have it any time of the day or night. So that should do for now.
Talking about the doughnut cactus, we had a few visitors last evening who decided to invite themselves to my home and pay these lovely things a visit. It was nice to hear their hoo and hawsss ..
I felt like a proud mama..

@sofssu I was telling a couple of friends about this cactus but they didn't believe me and so I just took a picture and will show it to them tomorrow.

@1hopefulman Nope, You live in Canada and I live in the other side of the globe where its is still warm.. or at least it was until a few days ago.. but as you can see when this picture was taken there was a thick mist falling. Its getting cooler now... but hardly ever below 15 * centigrade. So its almost like April for you..

@sofssu the first time I looked at this all I noticed was the donut part of the flower. Now looking at this again I see the green part where it bloomed from. That part reminds me a little of my Christmas cactus which is blooming a lot right now.

wow... so good to see, yeah they look like doughnuts true. amazing. Now I will be planting cacti as well. easy to manage and really blooms when time comes.

@sofssu yes I know, I have aloevera and everywhere I go I bring it with me without the pot and the soil. I just uproot it and then that's it.

I've never heard or seen that there is cactus before. They are very pretty. Are you saying you're visitors were of the people variety? And they really came by to admire your plants?

I am seeing and hearing of doughnut cactus for the first time. And they too remind me of mouthwatering doughnuts. Even I would say "Awww!". You are a real proud mom.
