I am a winner

I was on my phone on Facebook early this morning. A message came up from my "other" folder, I guess. I did not know the person, but I understood the message.
When @marsha32 and I did the quilt shop hop in October we were entered for door prizes at every store. I won one.
My voice mail is not set up on my "smart phone" because I am dumb.
They had been trying to reach me for a while.
It happened to be the quilt store in McPherson.
The nice reusable bag in my image came loaded with goodies.
There were three fat quarter bundles of coordinating fabric. A full yard of a batik. Two batik fat quarters, two batik regular quarters, and some smaller pieces. Lots of patterns and books. A table cloth to embroider, with the thread included.
It was a very nice win.

Yes, it really is. I never expect to win, so it was a real surprise.

Nice, goodies are always fun, one of the few things I think corporate America does right. Makes people motivated.

Just mentally totaling the values at a conservative rate, this is more than we spent combined on gas money for our weekend.

@responsiveme The large bundle that is shades of black and gray I may make a quilt similar to one @marsha32 made. It is called a split rail fence, lots of thin stripes sewn together. Her first quilt in that scheme had occasional red strips. She is also working on a black and white and yellow. I will probably do the black, gray and teal color.

Batik is a dye method that comes out with exotic finishes. I am sure these are factory done, but it was originally a hand dying process. The colors are neat to see. Fat quarters are pieces of fabric that are equivalent to one quarter yard. Instead of cutting the whole width of a piece of yardage 9 inches, which is a regular quarter, a fat quarter is half the width of the yardage, cut 18 inches. All of this probably is strange if you use metric measures instead.

@GardenGerty I do know about the batik work . There are dress materials that we get. Was wondering about the quarter bit.
It's the size of a piece..I get that now.
What are you going to do with them?
