Hello everyone.
We just heard some bad news yesterday after we celebrated my nephew's birthday. My husband's cousin's husband had a motorcycle accident in their hometown province yesterday morning.
He had a head on coalition with a dump truck. He has been motorcycle rider since his teenage years and now he has a big bike. The government are fixing some of the winding roads in their area, nearly a few minutes from their house. The contractors left a lot of stockpile and gravel on the road eating up space of the normal 2 lanes. Also, no one manning the twisty roads to signal for on coming traffic.
He had 3 surgeries: 1. a craniotomy (his head); 2. maxillofacial (the right side of his face); and 3. his right shoulder. The surgery took 12 hours and was delayed also because they have to wait for an anesthesiologist.
One thing good is that he was conscious when he got to the hospital and after the surgery and the anesthesia wears off, he was asking if he has been operated and was asking for water.
I am hoping that he will recover fully.

@JustBhem He survived the surgeries but still in ICU. According to his wife, he will be in ICU for 7-10 days. What is good for now is that he remembered everything that happened and he can talk though half of his face right cheek up are covered in bandage.

According to the wife, he will be in ICU for 7-10 days. he can talks somehow and he remember all the details of what happened. The half of his face (right eye and cheek) has bandage up to the skull. He was lucky to be still alive. But still no guarantee for now.

maybe he should have been given an osmotic diuretic to control possible cerebral swelling.

@rakski for cerebral hemorrhages, it is imperative that the patient is given an osmotic diutetic in the form of Mannitol. this reduces swelling of the brain.

That is very hard and not to mention expensive. This is one reason I hate to drive anything nor to learn to drive at all.
