Fitness machines. Should I buy one?

I was wondering if I should buy one of those fitness machines that you use instead of going for a walk.
I thought that I could have it in my room and watch TV while I walk my my place.
Usually, my walks end up being theoretical as I have to get ready for them, go before lunch as I take a nap after lunch. And then, the day ends. I sit down mylotting and with that and feeding Luna, there´s not much else to do.
A couple of my friends say that they have bought machines but have not used them. Lili uses hers to hang bags with the wool for her work.
What is your experience with them? I am no Jane Fonda, but I would like to have better muscles in February, for my trip to Mexico.

It is not as interesting to walk alone. And much less in a city where there´s only concrete around.

I personally like talking actual walks and seeing my surroundings outside - feeling like I'm going "somewhere". Plus you get some sun and fresh air - maybe greet a few people and pets along the way.
I know quite a few people who have had such fitness machines. They can take up a lot of room - and yes, for many it ends up in the corner of the room not getting used anymore. My parents have an old stationary bike (which does take up room) - and they only use it when they think to use it (which is not often).

In a city such as mine, there is not much to watch except for concrete

@marguicha How about even walking to the store - getting errands done by foot?

I love cycling instead of workouts.

I definitely prefer walks over a treadmill. But in the winter time its hard to get alot of walks in due to the cold. So it might not be too bad to get one.

@marguicha Sport is very good for health, especially for women,
because by the way we exercise their skin won't wrinkle quickly,
and will always look beautiful in their old days

If you have a big room and this kind of machine is not very expensive, that's fine. But I personally don't want to have it at home as I prefer to do exercises outdoor much more. It is much more interesting. Doing exercises on a machine indoor will make me feel bored.

Like your friend, I have always used exercise machines in our home for hanging items from as opposed to using them the way in which they were intended.
Have you considered taking out a trial membership to a facility to see if you can even afford the time to use this equipment?

Where I live, there´s only concrete sidewalks around. No parks, no clean air. My friend does not use the exercise machine, but she does not walk either. And she is very overweighed.

@marguicha I have to admit myself that the past week or two I have not walked as much as I'd like to. But I am having some pain with my feet, and I'm not sure what has caused that.

I had one of those machines a long time ago and at first I used it all the time. As time went on it became just another thing to hang clothes on.

I was thinking of that. I already know that I will only walk 3 or 4 blocks occasionally. So, if the machine is in my room in front of the TV, I might watch TV for 2 minutes first and then for 3 at a time. I need to get my legs back before February.

@JudyEv I checked. Hiring a machine is so expensive that if you get it for 3 months it costs as much as if you buy a not so sophisticated one. I want a normal walker, not one that has lots of extra devices.

@marguicha Is it an option to hire one to see if you'll use it? Although we did this, bought it then stopped using it.

Walking out will be the best. Boringness will be far from you and the excitement that you will get from there might even make you walk than you expected

My feet hurt and my muscles have problems. I want to start to walk maybe 3 minutes and then 4. I have to rehabilitate my legs.

@marguicha oh, hope you believe in prayer
I pray every rehabilitation that needs to take place in your leg, your muscles begins to take place now in Jesus name.
