December is here and Christmas is just around the corner. Every one of us here comes from different countries and culture. I am curious, how do you celebrate Christmas in your country? Here in the Philippines, I celebrate with my family. This is also the time for the family reunion and giving gifts to me and my family. How about yours?

In our country, most of us go to Church, we have "simbang gabi" or church, and on Christmas we do exchange gifts with our friends or relatives!

Yeah! I can feel the Christmas spirit that everyone is decorating their houses now. "Simbang gabi" is part of Christmas here in the Philippines. I love it. Were you able to finish the nine days from the previous years?

@tech40 Oh. That would be hard. Do you know of the belief that if you make a wish during simbang gabi and you finished the nine days then it will come true? I finished it before and my wished come true. :) It was my Christmas wish. It might just be a coincidence but I am happy that it was granted.

In my family its just my mother and I now. We open Christmas presents on Christmas Eve. It has always been our tradition. Also we have pizza on Christmas eve before we open presents. Then on Christmas day we get together with the rest of the family and have a big dinner and exchange a few more gifts.

That is so nice you are with your mother. I always look forward to a get together with the family and the opening of gifts. Last Christmas I wasn't able to spend this time with them.

A similar way!!! Put up a Christmas tree, exchange gifts and have a dinner with family and friends!! Somebody sometimes dresses up as Santa Claus!!!

Totally! I have this uncle who dressed up as Santa Claus years ago. It was a very special Christmas because Santa Claus visited.

@db20747 Yes. We were really surprised. I was just a child back then and I am 24 now. Whenever I remember it draws a smile to my lips.

You are from India my friend? I'm happy to hear that you like it even if you don't celebrate it in your country. It is a wonderful occasion for us, especially in the Philippines.

Well, we don't have Chrismas vocation actually. Thus, no celebrations. But, if you would like to celebrate it, no one could stop you. Going out for dinners or giving gifts to the one you love, etc.

Yes. Not everyone celebrates but everyone can give gifts and just eat out with family :). It doesn't have to be Christmas.
