Decision will be up to you. What will be the best for you?

@Karenmm Experience from a job will be beneficial to you and look good in resume if it is in line with career.

What does your mom say? Would she be happy if you were to help out with the bills? Some American kids do that also and I think the reason most would say to continue your education right away is that life can take over so that it become harder to go back to school. A lot depends on whether you already know what courses you want to take and what you hope to do with the rest of your life.
My kids lived at home and went to a nearby college where no one lived on campus. They were able to work part-time while attending school. The only thing is that it does take longer to go through one's schooling that way.

@Karenmm Is that what you're going to do then? If she's not concerned with getting help and you can afford to go to college or university, then you can always take a break later if she does need help then or if you need to rethink what you want to do.
